Operation Gratitude, a national organization that supports the Troops, are holding a benefit to raise money to send packages to the troops on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., at Granny’s Chicken Ranch, at 1340 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, KS. Granny’s is located just across from Cabela’s and next to Russell Stover’s in Village West.
The Blue River Ordonnance Band and Kim Smith, vocalist, will provide the entertainment for the evening with a $10 donation for Operation Gratitude.
Operation Gratitude, an all-volunteer organization, gathers donations and requested items to send care packages to the troops deployed overseas. Business and individuals from all over the U.S. generously contribute the items for the packages that include: food, toiletries, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation, all wrapped with good wishes of love and support.
“The money raised is needed for postage for the packages and hope everyone will come out to support the men and women that serve our country so faithfully in the military, “ remarked Kim Smith, Operation Gratitude Coordinator.
